Origin by Dan Brown
I discovered this author when I was roughly 20sh.
It was The Davinci Code in French that I got as a gift straight from Paris.
Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop myself. I was simply sucked into that book. Meanwhile I was in my final exams for my University graduation, but that book didn't leave me in peace and quiet. On the top of this I saw plenty of links with my licence dissertation which had the title The sign and its interaction with the context.
Oh, well! The Davinci Code by Dan Brown remained untouchable deep in my heart forever and ever, until, I have met on my way opinions that this author is quite mediocre and stuff like that. I believed. I was naive enough to believe at that time. So, Dan Brown went even deeper into my memories. So far away, that I've somehow forgotten about his existence and the fact that his The Davinci Code became the star of my dissertation, and that it inspired me so much. Finito!
Until one sunny day (that is quite rarissime in Scotland...), I was discarding the recycling and food waste across the building where my accommodation was. And suddenly I noticed a huge pile of books. I would have probably ignored them, but... Guess what book I have seen from that distance, over there?! Yeah! It was a book by Dan Brown! It was looking brand new. And it was called ORIGIN.
My dear readers, I believe in signs. So, yeah! You're right! i picked up that book and together with it another 20sh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
In that very moment, I promised myself that, of course, my next new reading will be Origin by Dan Brown. What do you think? I have procrastinated my that very desire for about a year. I was still hunted by those negative reviews about Dan Brown's books and maybe that was why I was keeping distance from between Origin and myself...
Oh, well! That very day arrived. I have picked up from the shelf the book. Dusted it and started to discover it bit by bit. First, an introduction on my podcast #books1001 then, the proper reading. Chapter by chapter. Until I've started to kind of hear in my head a voice. The voice of the book calling me to find out what is next.
That was quite an adventure this book.
It's been an over my expectations.
I am still wondering if the chapters where Tesla was so much emphasized were hidden advertising...
The place where the actions happen are mostly in Spain, in particular - Barcelona. A destination on my wishlist. And now, I know exactly what I want to explore there 😅
I have witnessed on my podcast, and I will mention here as well, I had dreams about Gaudi's architecture without knowing that was already existing in Spain. Impressive.
If I am planning to read other books by Dan Brown?! Maybe, in another decenium. I am still processing Origin. And, yeah! I would very much enjoy a movie on this book, even a serial 🥰
