The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak
What else I've read...
I've given 5/5 on #goodreads
Yeah! Looks like it took me again quite a long time to finish off a book by this great author. About 1,5 months. It's because the book is too good. And it is very inviting to indulge into the process of reading. 💚
I have appreciated every topic developed in this book: family, relationship daughter - father, daughter - mother, lovers, Cyprus, Cypriote history if the 20th century and people, the relationship between #turks and #greeks #trees #nature #birds #love #familyhistory #ancestors
I could continue because the list is veeeeery long 💚
Oh, yes, how not to mention #food
Someone mentioned that Elif Shafak 's books are delicious. Yep! This book is not an exception and that is seasoning a lot the entire story, becoming kind of a #foodbreak among all those, most of the time, sad events described by the author.
As usual, this book is indeed very rich and provokes insights and plenty of emotions.
I've learned an important lesson: children have to know their ancestors and their extended family.
After reading this book I see differently the trees 😇 and, can't wait to meet a #ficuscarica 💚
Enjoy the reading, my friends!
💚
Almost forgot to mention that you can find on my podcast 1001 books large pieces of the book recorded and mixed up with sounds I have improvised using some of my #percutionist #instruments
